MeMeMe Lash Attack Mascara [Review]

Dear readers,

It feels like it's been ages since I last did a proper blog post.

Just to give you a summary of my life at the moment:

I handed in my thesis yesterday (hurrah! hurrah!) for those interested - it is titled: Tainted Love: Portrayals of Sexuality in Selected Gothic Novels (I am an English honours student you see...)

I am in the process of starting (and hopefully finishing) 6 assignments (I've written 2, I'm in the middle of writing another one on eco-criticism) and I still have 3 more assignments to start and finish by mid-May.

...theeennnnn... I have to start studying for my synoptic exams which are at the end of May.

To sum it all up, I currently have no sort of life whatsoever.

So sorry if I'm not posting that often.

And to top it all off, I have been involved in a traffic accident today...yep. It just made my day.

But anyways, enough ranting and on to the review..

So I've had this mascara for about a month or so now (or a little less I think).

It is the MeMeMe Lash Attack Mascara.

It comes in a standard mascara tube but with cute zebra print.

It is also full of fibres (don't know if you can see them from the photos) so as to help with the lengthening. I think this was between Euro 10 to Euro 12.

Now I really do hate giving bad reviews, but this is one of them. This mascara does nothing, NOTHING for my lashes. Now I have been blessed with longish lashes so even a half-decent mascara will show up really well on them. but this one seriously does nothing for me. To me it gives the same effect if I had to use clear lash mascara on my lashes. I've only used this twice (and on both occasions I had to use another mascara for the second coat).

I won't be using it ever again except maybe when I really want the natural, no mascara look - and I'll probably opt for no mascara.

Sorry for not taking before/after photos but the weather has been really gloomy. If you would like to see before/after photos, then I'll post a couple when the weather is better.

Have you tried this mascara before?

Some nail designs I did this week

Dear readers,

Hope you're all doing swell :)

I thought you would like to see some nail designs which I did this week. Some of them I did invent, some others my clients brought with them pictures that they wanted me to re-create for them.

Just let me know if you would like me to do a step-by-step tutorial for any of these designs!

Urban Decay Naked Basics [Review]

Well hello my dear readers,

I hope you're all doing well.

I am sorry for not posting as regularly as before, but I am in the process of finishing off my thesis, writing 6 assignments, studying for 4 exams plus 2 synoptic exams (and they must all be done by the end of May...). So please do excuse me.

Anyways, I have finally jumped onto the Urban Decay wagon! Woot Woot!

I went for the Naked Basics palette since I love me matte eyeshadows. I got it from here and it cost me Euro  23.29 plus free shipping. So that is roughly Euro 3.90 per eyeshadow, which is a great price for a high-end product, don't you think?

The Naked Basics palette comes in a rubberised palette, and you also get a nicely sized mirror inside. It is also really travel friendly (check out the pics below...)

The colours you get are: Venus, Foxy, Walk of Shame, Naked 2, Faint, Crave

All are completely matte, except Venus, which is a gorgeous, shimmery eyeshadow, perfect for highlighting. My favourite colour is Faint - in my opinion it is the perfect crease colour.

The size of each eyeshadow pan is 1.3g.

These eyeshadows go on like butter and last for agesssss! I am in lurve! They are so easy to work with, so easy to blend and you can transform your makeup look from day to night.

I am completely sold! I must get my hands on the original Naked palette now though...

I deem this to be a makeup bag essential!

Pupa Milano Multiplay Triple Purpose Eyepencil in '#09 Black [Review]

Dear readers,

A pencil eyeliner is a must have in every makeup bag, and it's really hard to find one which is both long lasting and pigmented at the same time.

Last month I was introduced to the Pupa Multiplay Triple-Purpose Eye Pencil: an eye pencil which has 3 different uses: a pencil, kohl liner, and as an eyeshadow/ eyeshadow base.

But first things first. This pencil liner costs Euro 6.89 and comes in a staggering 16 different shades.

It has 2 ends: on one side there is the pencil, on the other a smudger.

You get 1.2 grm (mine is 0.8grm because it is a sample sized one).

This eyeliner is so soft and goes on like butter: it is almost like a gel eyeliner but in a pencil form! Which makes this a really nice pencil to use on the waterline because there's no need to tug on one's eye for the pencil to show up.

Since it is really soft take care when you sharpen it (or else keep it in the fridge if it's really warm outside).

Moreover, you can also use an angled brush to pick up the colour from the pencil and use that to achieve a thin winged eyeliner.

To use as an eyeshadow base you do need to act fast to smudge it out because once it's set - it is hard to get off. Which makes it really long-lasting (and waterproof too! yey!! (around 8-10 hours!!)

Excellent purchase, definite recommend.

Wjcon Nail Polish in #N605 [Review]

Dear readers,

I must come clean.

I have an unhealthy obsession with nail polishes.

I am a hoarder.

I do use them a lot though since I am a nail technician ^.^ So that makes it ok to continue hoarding them ha ha

So yesterday I was invited to a Bloggers Event at Wjcon Malta but unfortunately I couldn't attend because I had tickets for a play by Harold Pinter called 'The Homecoming' (you see I am a 3rd year B.A English with Hons student which makes me a total nerd)

But anyways, about 2 weeks ago now I ventured to Wjcon's for the first time since they opened doors in Malta. I got a couple of things, among them this Shocking Pink nail polish in #605.

It comes in a standard glass bottle and holds 10ml, and this cost me only Euro 3.50! Their prices are so affordable I couldn't believe my eyes - especially since they are excellent products.

This colour is amaze-balls. Everyone has been complimenting me about it =^.^=

They also have a lot of other colours - plus shocking green, orange and yellow.

As usual, I cannot comment on chipping since I do apply this on nail extensions and even without a topcoat they don't chip.

What I can say though is that this is really opaque and just 1 coat is enough for a bright finish (I did apply two coats on my nails out of habit though).

Another thing is that this polish's finish is really shiny!

Will buy again for sure, definite recommend and a steal at Euro 3.50 each too!

Would you wear this bright colour?

MeMeMe Long Wear Satin Lip Cream in 'Hot Magenta' [Review]

Dear readers,

The latest addition to my lipstick family is MeMeMe's Hot Magenta....

.....and boy does this colour look hot!

The Long Wear Satin Lip Cream's all come in gorgeous packaging featuring a different Greek goddess each.  Hot Magenta features Elektra, daughter of King Agamemnon (for those who don't know he was the guy who commanded the Greek troops in the Trojan War) and Queen Clytemnestra.

The lipstick tube is matte and works by using the standard twist up mechanism. You get the name of the lipstick at the bottom.

Hot Magenta is a shocking pink lipstick (too bright even for my liking!) but I just couldn't resist not getting it.

This is really pigmented and goes on like velvet - as a matter of fact I think it is way too soft! Don't try to use it with the lipstick bullet completely out of the tube because it will end up snapping off in half. I only had it a quarter of the way up, and after I was done using it there were the marks of the tube on the bullet (since it is so soft).

And it's better if you don't carry it in your purse if the temperature is more than 28 degress celcius or it'll melt (and don't leave it in your car too!).

The best thing to do is to leave it in the fridge during the warmer, summer months.

About it's staying power - this lasted about 3 hours after I had eaten (most probably it didn't last more because of it's satiny, soft finish)

I got mine from the agent in Malta and it cost me Euro 9 (I believe). You can also get them from this Ebay seller here (he has the whole collection of lipsticks) or from Superdrug (in the UK).

Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever [Review]

Dear readers,

Marilyn Monroe should have sang 'Primers are a girl's best friend' and not 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend' in the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

They should be your best friend, especially if you have oily skin (like me).

What first caught my eye when I saw the Goodbye Pore Ever primer by Etude House was a) the cute packaging b) the witty name

I bought mine from E-bay for $10.49 (inc. shipping) - click here if you want to buy one from the seller I bought mine from. So cheap!

This primer has such cute packaging - I nearly swooned when I first saw it :p

It comes in a cute box (the box has a woman's profile on the side), and the primer itself comes in a tube with a screw on cap. It holds 20 ml of product, so it isn't much - but you don't need to use a tonne of product.

The primer itself is silicone based, and apart from preventing oiliness, it should also help minimise your pores.

Even though I did not see a large difference in my pores, this makes up for it in the anti-oil department. This has worked wonders for me!

My face (especially my noise) remained matte for around 6-7 hours (I did set my bb cream with loose powder though).

This is short of a miracle to me.

Definite re-purchase!

I wish these were in English :(

Do you use primers?
